A self-described “Swiss Army knife”, Nate interned with National Geographic as a blogger and social media manager while working through college as a freelance photographer. After his BA in Environmental Studies at the University of Maryland in 2011, Nate embarked upon a series of tall ship adventures working as an educator and with the deck crew from deckhand to chief mate. These programs ranged from his native Chesapeake to Hawaii, the Great Lakes, the Caribbean, the Canadian Maritimes and both coastlines.
Following a blissful 2021 season as one of our captains, Nate continues to share his passion for all that we do long term as our Outreach Manager.
