ALEC KNOWLES

Trustee Emeritus

Alec spent twenty-six years in the financial services industry, initially with Citibank in New York and then Chicago. In 1990, he joined Lincoln Capital Management Company (a small investment firm serving the institutional investing market). He joined Lehman Brothers in 2003 when that firm acquired the fixed income investment arm of Lincoln Capital. Over his career, Alec’s roles spanned corporate banking, relationship management, marketing and product specialist.

Alec grew up in Maine, before educational opportunities lured him away. He earned a BA (Psychology) from the University of Virginia and an MBA (Finance) from Columbia University Graduate School of Business. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst® charterholder and served as President of the CFA Society Chicago. He is now retired and living in Jamestown, RI. He and his wife (with guest appearances by his three children and four grandchildren) spend summers on their sailboat—primarily in Maine.
