Julie graduated from Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts with a B.A. in English Literature. When a Colorado river trip through Brown’s Canyon and the Royal Gorge on the Arkansas River opened her eyes to learning-through-living experiences, she then spent a few years as a whitewater rafting guide happily exploring the rivers of the Southwest and New Zealand. Eventually, and perhaps with a smidge of regret, that path led to various positions in corporate customer service and operations project management.
Her position with and the dedicated people of Hurricane Island renew her spirit every day. Julie lives in Camden with her pupper Emma.
