Director of Science and Research
Before joining Hurricane Island, Caitlin was most recently a Marine Programs Associate at the Island Institute, where she focused on working waterfront preservation and engaging coastal communities and fishing industry members in the regional ocean planning process currently underway in New England. Caitlin received her bachelor of arts degree in environmental studies from Colby College, a master's degree in public administration in environmental science and policy from Columbia University, and a dual masters degree in marine biology and marine policy from the University of Maine. She was awarded a Switzer Environmental Fellowship in 2013 to pursue her passion for marine conservation. Caitlin and her husband, Kris, live in Thomaston.
