Join us for an exquisite farm-to-table dinner on Hurricane Island. We will be celebrating with the bounty of our beautiful gardens, the skill and artistry of scratch cooking, and the incredible scenery of Hurricane Island.
After you are welcomed ashore Hurricane Island, enjoy hors d'oeuvres on one of the docks looking across to Greens Island and Vinalhaven. You might take a short hike to the South End beach, which looks towards Matinicus and Criehaven, speak with our staff about the sustainable energy systems and gardens we have installed on Hurricane, or simply relax and enjoy the food and scenery.
The dinner, served in our newly restored dining room, will be an eclectic composition prepared and presented by Hurricane Island's dear friend Ladleah Dunn, a trained chef, experienced mariner, and talented farmer who specializes in local foods. Ladleah will create an elegant meal featuring food farmed, fished, or foraged on Hurricane Island as well as in the greater Midcoast area. Maine beers and wine will be served with the meal, and locally roasted coffee will be offered with dessert. Expect a relaxed and informal atmosphere but lively conversation.
Tickets are $150 each and include round-trip transportation from Journey's End Marina in Rockland. All but $75 per attendee is tax-deductible as provided by law. Thank you for supporting the educational programs on Hurricane Island! Parking is available at the marina or in the Rockland municipal lots surrounding the marina. The boat departs at 3:00PM for a 4:00 PM arrival on Hurricane and will return by 9:30PM.
