Maine Science, Exploration, Adventure, Leadership (SEAL)

The Maine SEAL program works with middle school students (ages 12-15) to foster their excitement for real-world science and inquiry. SEAL students at the Hurricane Island Center for Science and Leadership learn science by observing and interacting with the island, the waters and coastline of Penobscot Bay, and the air above. Science experiments in disciplines such as marine biology, botany, geology, and ornithology are all part of the science curriculum.
